Looking For Replacement Swivel Jack For 1984 Scamp Trailer

Updated 06/23/2025 | Published 06/09/2025

Question:

Friends: We possess a 1984 Scamp Trailer. We wish to replace the trailer hitch jack. It is a side-mounted easy-swivel top-wind jack with an Atwood handle. It has a solid foot. The jack is attached to the frame via a bracket that is welded to the frame. What do you and I need to know replace the jack unit only without having to replace the welded bracket? Preferably the replacement would have a side-wide system and either a wheel or the ability to swap foot and wheel.7

Hello Brett, thanks for reaching out. I looked online at a few pictures of these 1984 Scamp Trailers. Most of the pictures I saw showed a snap ring swivel jack, so it sounds like that is what you are looking for. Something like the Round Snap Ring Swivel Jack w/ Footplate # TJB-2002-B. This uses a standard mounting bracket that measures 4" wide by 5" tall and uses a 1/2" spring loaded pin. Please check your trailer and verify this matches.

If this is not exactly what you are looking for, let me know. You can even feel free to email me a few pictures of your specific jack and I am happy to take a look. Also if you can tell me the retracted/extended length of your jack that will help a lot.

Replying on this page is the fastest way to get ahold of me.

Thank you for the very thorough reply. Much appreciated. You are correct that the jack is held to the welded plate by a cee clip/snap ring. However, the current jack uses spring loaded locking pins that are 3/8". The exterior measurement as installed is 2&15/16" in the outer diameter. I can't measure the interior diameter without uninstalling the jack at this point. My guess is 2.5" The welded bracket is 4&1/4" t-b and s-s. Any help identifying a replacement that would allow use of current welded bracket would be appreciated. Brett

@Bn Hey Brett, so the Fulton Round, Snap-Ring Swivel Marine Jack part # FTJ120W0301 has a 3/8" diameter pull pin. The bolt holes are 3" apart, and the center hole is 2-1/2". I can't add pictures in the comments on here but if you go to the part page for the # FTJ120W0301 you can see detailed dimensions of the bracket. So far it sounds like this might match what you have.
