Info Needed to Pick Out Disc Brake Kit for 2023 Grand Design Imagine 2600RB

Updated 06/05/2025 | Published 06/02/2025

Question:

I’m interested in a Deemaxx disc brake conversion kit for my 2023 Grand Design Imagine 2600RB which has dual Lippert 4400lb axles model V000531456, 6 on 5 1/2 15” wheels. Could you please advise the recommended kit and or parts list for this conversion, also please advise if my current brake controller, Curt 51170 Spectrum brake controller would be compatible with the electric over hydraulic controller in your recommended conversion kit, thanks,

Hey Russ, the Lippert 4,400 lb trailer axle is a bit of a quirky one and sometimes uses bearings found in 3,500 lb axles and other times 5,200-7k. Could I get you to pull a hub off and measure the diameter of the spindle where the bearings ride with a caliper so we can verify for sure what you'd need?

As requested the inner bearing is a L68149 with an inner diameter of 1.3775”, the outer bearing is a L44649 with an inner diameter of 1.0625”. Also I see comments regarding fitment with 15” rims being a possible problem, is this still a possible issue or has the manufacturer dealt with this problem?, thanks.

@RussC Awesome thank you. Based on that you do have the 3,500 lb trailer axle bearings which means we don't have a 6 lug bolt pattern since that's not super common for that axle capacity. Is there any way you'd consider going to a 5 lug bolt pattern wheel?

@RussC Would you another option besides Deemax that would work with my setup, don’t really want to replace my wheels as well?

@RussC There are no disc brake setups for a 3,500 lb trailer axle that we carry that have a 6 lug bolt pattern unfortunately.
