Best RV AC Unit Recommendation for Texas Heat

Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/01/2025

Question:

I have a starwood le. I think it is a 2006. It has a carrier ac on top that has stopped working. I want to replace place it. The rv has ceiling ducts and vents. The heater is a propane furnace with floor vents. The ac and heater are both controlled by a remote control there is no wall mounted thermostat. Also I live in west texas so it stays 95° plus most of the summer. Need recommendations please. Thanks

Hey Steven, there's really only one AC unit around that is going to be able to keep you cool in the Texas heat you have and that's the Furrion Chill Cube like the part # FR49TD. This has the highest BTU rating and is known to be the coldest blowing and quietest option around. It also is designed for ducted applications like you have and comes with a wall remote that you can have act as the thermostat sensor as well. The thermostat of this is also compatible with propane furnaces as well. Let me know if you have any questions down below.

Hey Steven, did the Furrion Chill Cube work out for keeping your RV cool in the Texas heat? I'm asking because your experience could really help others in similar hot climates.
