Question:

I am looking for a replacement wheel strap for my thule hitch rack. I think its a t2 pro. My original strap was cut by a bike thief. Replacement Fat Tire Wheel Strap for Thule T2 Classic Platform Bike Racks - Qty 1 Part Number: 8527642001 that strap worked for a while but just broke but it was too long. I am looking for that strap but regular length but i cant seem to find it. Any help appreciated. Thanks jason

Hello Jason, thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear the thief got to your bike rack. We can't have nothin' these days!

There are two options here. You can use either the Replacement Fat Tire Wheel Strap for Thule T2 Classic Platform Bike Racks # 8527642001. This is the 18" long strap you mentioned, and it will work with the T2 Pro.

The other option is the replace the whole wheel holder assembly with part # 7521682001. This will come with the same strap as the original one that was cut. The only way to get he original straps would be with the wheel holder assembly. Thule does not offer that part by itself.

Hey Jason, did you decide to go with the wheel holder assembly to get the original strap length you were looking for? I'm asking because your experience could help others facing the same issue with their Thule rack.
