Hello Joe, thanks for reaching out. The Demco # DM8550046 you mentioned is for a flatbed truck with a recessed gooseneck ball so this would not work for your setup. Instead what you will want is the following:
- Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter - Single Jaw - 21,000 lbs # DM8550045
This is the model that will work with standard gooseneck balls, like the one in your Chevy 2500. It will work with virtually any 2-5/16" gooseneck ball.
