Recommended Comfort Ride Suspension Upgrade for 6,000 lbs Axles

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 05/26/2025

Question:

I have a 2013 Columbus 320RS. I am looking to upgrade to the roadmaster system. I want to ensure I am purchasing the right item. I found this item on your site. My axel is a LCI60 GAWR of 6000lbs. I also need the Ubolts. Is this enough information to confirm these 2 items are what I need?

Hey Jeff, you have done your homework well. I'm a bit surprised they put a pair of 6,000 lbs axles on a trailer rated for 14,000 lbs GVWR though. Did you get that information off of the axle tag?

If you do have 6,000 lbs axles you will want the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers item # RM49NQ, you referenced.

If you check your axle tag and see you have 7,000 lbs axles, I recommend the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers item # RM-2460-2570.

Both of these kits require two of the U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles item # APUBR-8.

I recommend confirming your axles' capacity by checking the tag and the axles. You can add this information and any other questions you have in the box below that says Reply to Jerred H.

Hey Jeff, did you get a chance to confirm your axle capacity from the tag? I'm curious to know if the Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Kit with Shocks for the 7K axles worked out for your Columbus. Your experience could be really helpful for others in a similar situation!
