Is Pivot Hole for etrailer SD Tow Bar # e37ZR Slotted and Allow Movement

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 05/20/2025

Question:

I have an etrailer SD tow bar and I have noticed that the bar is shifting up and down at the bolt closest to the motorhome. I have checked the torque and it good. The hole is oblong so I’m guessing the movement is normal but I wanted to check. Thank you

Hey Shawn, yes the hole that attaches the pivot assembly to the shank of the etrailer tow bar part # e37ZR is slotted to allow some movement so what you are experiencing is normal.

Hey Shawn, I'm glad I could confirm that the movement you're seeing with your tow bar is normal. How has it been working for you since you checked the torque? I'm asking because your experience could help others who have similar concerns.
