How to Fix Water Sitting in the Middle of a Solera Slide Out Topper

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 05/19/2025

Question:

I have Solera slide out toppers installed on my 5th wheel. The two longer ones don’t seem to be tight enough and are ponding water in the middle. Is there a way to tighten them without removing the whole assembly? Thank you

No, there isn't because it's an issue with the tension. You're going to have to remove the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning item # LCV000165061 so that you can unwind it and then wind it back again for proper tension. When you re-mount the awning the roller should be rotated about 14 times. Lippert recommends between 12 and 16.

If you have any additional questions, go ahead and throw them into the comment box below and I'll be happy to answer them.
