Hi Ben; do you have a round plug like the one in the picture below from the Curt # C55774? If so, you can add this adapter to your factory wiring for 7-way installation. I would expect your factory 4-way to have the same style just like # C55515. If you don't have a plug that matches the only option would be to add a universal 7-way # ETBC7.
It sounds like you have a brake controller port under your dash as well, is that correct? I'm curious since we have some notes that exclude the Z71 from brake controller fitment. Don't get me wrong, you can add one no matter what as long as you have a 7-way. However, the correct parts depend on whether or not you have the factory tow port.
If you do have this plug (should match the brown plug from the picture below) you can use the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # TK88HR which comes with the custom wiring harness. If you do not, or if you have to install the # ETBC7, you need the # 90195 which will splice in for installation.
I added a link to our installer locator further down on this page. You will probably have to enter your zip again to see the full list. There are several nearby shops that have installed brake controllers for us before like Quality Trailer.

Hi Ben, did you find a plug that matches the one in the picture from the Curt connector? I'm curious if you were able to get the 7-way installation set up and if the brake controller worked out for you. Let me know how it went, as your experience could help others with similar setups.
