Will the GE Profile Propane RV Range Work in a Marine Environment? Is there a Broiler? Thermocouple?

Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 05/02/2025

Question:

Can this be used in a marine environment? I know that it is not gimbaled, and I dont care about that. But is there a thermocouple issue? Also, is there a broiler setting?

Hello Cathryn,

My apologies for the delay in getting an answer, I was waiting on an answer from GE as I was not able to find out much information on using it in a marine environment. Here is what I heard back:

"These are designed for RV use, I am sure it would work well in a marine environment, there is no broil setting on the range. Regarding connection to propane please refer to the owners manual."

Also, regarding the thermocouple, The GE Profile # GE57VR 21" Drop-In RV Gas Range does not include a thermocouple-based safety shut-off system. While the absence of a thermocouple isn't inherently a defect, it's important to be aware of this when considering safety features.

I attached images of the instructions regarding the propane hook-up.

Do you think this will work for you?

Hey Cathryn, did the information from GE help you decide if the range will work for your marine environment? I'm curious to know if it met your needs, as it could help others in a similar situation.
