Recommended Roof Rack for a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L w/ Two Hullavators

Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 04/22/2025

Question:

I would like to install two Thule Hullavators on a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Thule says this is possible with their 79” Pro Bar Evo roof rack, but that the weight limit is 150 lbs, and since the Hullavators are each 40 pounds and the kayaks are each 55 pounds, I would be at 190. Are there other roof racks that are compatible with both my car and two Hullavators that would bear over 200 lbs? The Yakima racks seem to say you can’t haul kayaks side by side. Any suggestions welcomed! Thank you.

Hey Jai! Each Thule Hullavator item # TH898 requires 28-1/2" of crossbar space, so with two of them you will need at least 57" crossbars. This means you'll have to install the 60" long Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars item # TH711520 to fit them. No idea whatsoever where they got 79" from because that would 29" longer than what's recommended for your Jeep. All of the roof racks we carry for your 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L top out at 165 lbs capacity.

Here are the rest of the parts you'll need to mount the item # TH711520 crossbars to your 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L:

Evo Flush Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars - Flush Side Rails item # TH710601

Fit Kit for Thule Evo Flush Rail and Edge Flush Rail Roof Rack Feet - 6120 item # TH68FE

A great perk of Thule's products is you can buy larger lock core kits 6 item # TH450600 or 8 item # TH450800 and have the roof rack and other Thule accessories all controlled by the same key. You would need the 8 pack to lock both Hullavators and the roof rack.

If you have any additional questions go ahead and throw them into the comment box below and I'll be happy to answer them.

Hey Jai, did you find a roof rack solution that worked for your Jeep and the Hullavators? I'm curious because your experience could really help others in a similar situation.
