Hi Scott,

Thanks for reaching out!

I have something that will get you some clearance, but our lift kits are specifically designed for Dexter Torsion Axles. From my research, it appears that your trailer has a leaf spring suspension rather than a torsion axle. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to a database that tells me exactly what components are used on each trailer model, my job would be a whole lot easier if we did.

Based on what I’ve found, it looks like your trailer is equipped with two 5,200 lb axles.

To gain some additional clearance, I recommend the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit – Part # K71-385-00. This kit relocates your leaf springs to sit on top of the axle, typically providing 4.5 to 5 inches of increased ground clearance. It’s designed to work with axles that have a 3" diameter, and you’ll need one kit per axle.

If you're not 100% sure about the type of axles on your trailer, feel free to send over a photo of the axle tag. I’d be happy to confirm the fitment for you. I’ve also attached an image that shows how to measure the axle diameter just in case you’d like to double-check yourself. I also attached a video where Kevin does an excellent job explaining what this kit does.

Getting ready for a trip? If so, where are you headed? I always enjoy hearing about travel plans!

Hi Scott, Did the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit work out for your Grand Design Imagine trailer? I'm asking because your experience could help others looking to gain clearance on similar trailers.
