Question:
We have a 2002 dometic duo therm 57915-531 that needs replacing. It is shot. I was told the Furrion FR58PR is a direct replacement 6 pin to our 6 pin . We were told we could use our existing controller and existing thermostats. Can you verify this information? Thank you

Hello Ray, thanks for reaching out. The Furrion Chill HE # FR58PR does have a 6-pin plug. With your Dometic unit being on the older side you may run into issues where the AC and controller do not intercommunicate correctly. We have been running into a lot of compatibility issues with there Dometic units in recent years, especially more so now that manufacturers are switching over to the new R32 refrigerant. So for that reason I recommend replacing your distribution box and thermostat with compatible Furrion parts. That is the only way we can guarantee compatibility. For a full AC system, I recommend the following:
- Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 15,000 Btu - White - R32 # FR83TD

The unit you referenced us not the refrigerant referenced in the unit I mentioned in my first question. It does not use the R32. It's the FR 58PR we want. We have a ducted ac system and don't see the need for the distribution box. We were told we may need the FR86NR possibly, but also told we could use our current control box. Can you reply on this info?
