Can Fixed Companion 5th Wheel Hitch Be Used in 2012 Ram 3500 Short Bed

Good Afternoon. I have a question about the BandW Companion NON slider. Will it work on a shortbed truck? I have a 2012 Ram 3500 single rear wheel 4x4. I currently have the BandW Gooseneck BWGNRK1313 and I cannot find a definitive yes or no answer. Thank you for any info you can provide! Coleton

Hey Coleton! You can use the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 with your Turnoverball # BWGNRK1313. However, to get the proper clearance you will have to add a rotating pin box like the Reese Sidewinder # RP34FR to your 5th wheel. You will have to figure out your bolt pattern, or you can send me a picture of the sticker on the pin box, to find the right fit.
The # RP34FR fits Fabex 663 and 665, Lippert 0719, 1621 and 1621HD, M&M 663 and 665 Lippert 1716 and 0115 (spacer kit required - sold separately), and Lippert Rhino bolt patterns. If you don't want to swap out the pin box the only way to get the proper clearance is with the slider # BWRVK3400-5W.

Hey Coleton, how did things go with the B&W Companion and your Ram short bed? Did the Sidewinder setup give you the clearance you needed? Your update could make it easier for others working with the same hitch combo.
