Do Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Springs Require New Bushings

Updated 04/09/2025 | Published 04/06/2025

Question:

Do these new springs require bushings for the eye let side? Doesn't specify? If so what is the part number?

Hey Dave! The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring # RM-2460-2570 comes with bushings. The only thing you will need is the existing bolts from your trailer. Some people do decide to go ahead and swap their existing bolts out for wet bolts # 34007-187-00 if you don't already have them. What kind of trailer do you have? As long as you have a 3" diameter axles this kit will work for you.

I have a Forest River Wildwood Heritage Glen 290RL. Axle number is 7608228. I measured the distance between center hub to center hub of my axles and they measure 33" if that makes a difference. I've seen some comments that this requires a 35" wheel base so that is a concern as well. Thanks Dave

@Dave it will work with that wheelbase. Just make sure the axle diameter is 3" or you will need a different kit. Based on your trailer weight they must be larger than 3,500 lbs (which would be 2-3/8") so I'm sure you have 3" axles but it is best to check.

@RobinH Yes I have 3" axles 5200 Lbs. I'm wanting to put the 7000Lbs suspension https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Suspension-Parts/Roadmaster/RM-2460-2570.html But I'll need longer Ubolts. Can you provide the correct part number. I think they need to be 7+ inches long. Thanks, Dave

@Dave you can use the # APUBR-9 if you want a kit or # 176500 for just the U-bolts.
