Question:
Is this hitch capable of towing a car a bit over 2,000lbs

No, and neither is your Focus. I'm not sure which model your 2011 Ford Focus is but none of them have a towing capacity over 2,000 lbs unless yours has a diesel engine. The Curt Hitch item # C11319 is a class I hitch which means it tops out at 2,000 lbs. The only other hitch available is the Draw-Tite item # 24805 but it's got the same specs.
Since you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # 56014 and a ball mount kit item # e47DR.

Hey, did you end up deciding which hitch to go with for your Focus? Knowing what setup you chose could help others trying to tow near that 2,000‑lb limit. Your experience might guide someone else working with a similar car.
