Should Redarc Tow Pro Brake Controller Installed 2023 Chevy Suburban Drain Battery

Question:
hi i installed a redarc tow pro elite on my 2023 suburban my question is the car is off i noticed the brake controller is still on ? is it always on constant power low and behold the next day my battery is dead

Hey Justin, like all brake controllers the Redarc Tow Pro Elite part # RED44FR does stay "on" all the time but it will go into a sleep mode after a few minutes where it shouldn't draw hardly any power. Certainly not enough to drain a battery overnight.
Did you try and start the vehicle after the install? Typically in this situation it's the dome light being on during the install process that drains the battery and the next time you attempt to start the vehicle the battery is dead. In your case that could end up being the next day. Let me know either way and lets figure this out.
