Will Blue Ox Trailer Hitch Increase the Tongue Weight on a 2024 Ford Bronco

Question:

My 2024 Bronco has a max tongue weight of 350. This hitch supports a max weight of 675. If I put this hitch on my Bronco, does that increase the vehicles max tongue weight to 675? My understanding is that the max tongue weight is limited by the vehicle, not the hitch - is that true? Or is increasing the max tongue weight as simple as fitting a better hitch?

The max tongue weight is determined by the lower number in any given situation. Since your 2024 Ford Bronco has a max tongue weight rating of 350 lbs that will be the limiting factor, even if you use the Blue Ox Trailer Hitch Receiver # BLU95UR with the higher tongue weight.

Hitch manufacturers test the hitches apart from the vehicles which it's fairly common to see a difference between them.
