What Bulb do I Want to Tie Into Installing the Roadmaster Smart LED Wiring on 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe

Question:

I am installing the smart diode flat towing wiring kit on a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and need clarification on which bulb is used. The instructions show a schematic with the taillight bulb being used, the wiring installation video shows the brake light bulb being used, and the alternate wiring schematic shows the brake light bulb being used. Which is correct?

Hello Michael,

For installing the Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights # RM47ZR I would most definitely follow the video that Ryan did. He does flat tow set-ups all the time, and it is part of the reason why we make the videos is because sometimes the instructions are not so clear. I attached the install video, it is at about 15 minutes and 45 seconds when he talks about the brake light wire, I would install it just like Ryan does, it is the same Year, Make, and Model 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. We have people that come to Missouri from all over the US to get their flat tow set-up installed, I think it is safe to say our guys know their stuff.

Are you new to flat towing, of just getting a new car set-up?
