Parts to Tow Horse Trailer With 2021 Land Rover Defender

Question:
Hello etrailer team, I am looking for a reliable solution to pull a horse trailer with my P400 Land rover defender, that does not have a braking controller installedi usually tow a mechanical braking trailer I am looking at your brake controller, would those work? Thank you Veronique

Hi Veronique; does your horse trailer have electric brakes? If it does, and you have a 7-way on your 2021 Land Rover Defender, the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 will work for you. If you don't have electric brakes you will need to make a conversion.
If you don't have trailer wiring or a hitch on your 2021 Land Rover Defender you will need to add them. It doesn't look like there are aftermarket hitches so ideally you at least have a factory hitch already. If you're missing anything please let me know in the comments below and I'll see what is available.
