Turning and backing with the Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Adapter, item # AM3100, will be the same as turning and backing with a gooseneck hitch in the bed of your truck. The ride quality of using a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter usually is a bit worse than towing a gooseneck trailer with the same trailer weight and tongue weight. Usually fifth-wheel trailers will tow better and ride better with a fifth-wheel hitch due to the pin box configuration and fifth wheel hitch design. If you are not towing the fifth wheel that often and/or need to tow both with the same truck then the Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Adapter is a safe, viable option.
