Remote Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 1963 Plymouth Signet Valiant

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/11/2025

Question:

I have a 1963 Plymouth Signet Valiant with 225 slant six engine..it has a transmission radiator in front of main radiator just hanging there. I just rebuilt engine and live in Phoenix. Do you have a smaller transmission radiator that can be mounted some where else. Also what electric radiator fan do you recommend and I want to connect it ti tremostat at 180 degrees

Hey Michael, it sounds like what you are wanting is a Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan # D13950 which is a smaller yet very efficient transmission cooler that has a fan and thermostat (set to 180 degrees) built into it which will do a great job keeping your transmission fluid cooler in the Phoenix heat. Does yours have the push button transmission it was famous for?

Hey Michael, how did the Derale Atomic-Cool remote transmission cooler work out on your Valiant in that Phoenix heat? Your update could make it easier for others with older setups to find the right cooling solution.

@JamesonC It have the push button transmission and I did not install any fan system I install a new radiator which has openings at the bottom for the transmission to use the radiator so I took the old transmission radiator out so far so good
