Updated 11/06/2025 | Published 03/10/2025

Question:

I have a Kearney 16ft trailer with two Dexter axles 3500lbs. I purchased the K23-086-087-00 brake kits, but I need to know which hub/drums to purchase to complete the project. Please advise. Thank you.

Hello Roy, thanks for reaching out. The Dexter 3,500 lb axles use standard bearing sizing, and we do have hub/drums that will work with the # K23-086-087-00 brake kit. I will just need to confirm your hub bolt pattern. The most common is the 5 on 4-1/2" so if this is what you have, I recommend the following:

- Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles - 10" - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K

If you have a different bolt pattern just let me know and we should have an option for you.

Leave a reply below with any comments or questions and I will get back to you.

Hey Roy, how did things go with the hub and drum setup for your Kearney trailer? Did the Easy Grease assemblies fit well with your Dexter axles? Your update could make it easier for the next person working on the same project.

@JesseM Thanks for checking in. I actually had to put the project on hold, so I haven't purchased the hub/drum assemblies yet. Plan to do that soon.
