can i use this hitch as a recovery point. my new jeep dosent have rear recovery point.

Yes, you could use Curt trailer hitch # C13065 as a recovery point to get unstuck when doing a little off-roading or muddin'.
You could tie off to the safety cable loops on the hitch or what I recommend is to use tow strap loop, # TR63046, since it offers a larger area on which to attach a strap.
And if you are in need of a tow strap, now or in the future, I recommend # IMF100014. I have included a link to a video showing installation of the hitch for you.
