Question:

will it pull a 16foot john boat with 30 hp motor about 5miles at a time?

Curt trailer hitch # C12115 is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight so a 16 foot jon boat with 30 horse power motor won't be a problem for the hitch. But for the vehicle you will need to look in the owners manual for the towing capacity. It will likely be lower than the hitch rating. Whichever ends up being lower is the capacity you will need to go by.

The correct ball mount for this hitch is # C45017. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring (US models) you can use # 118576. I have linked instructions for the wiring harness and a video for the hitch.
