Can Trailer Hub/Drums be Used for Electric or Hydraulic Brakes?

I want to change from hydraulic drum brakes to electric drum brakes. My question… Can I use my as new hydraulic brake drums with a new electric brake shoe hub set up. Thx

Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out!
Yes, you can still use the hub/drums from your hydraulic brakes with a new electric brake setup on your trailer. The 5.2K to 7K etrailer Rust-Resistant Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-7-D are an excellent kit if that's the weight capacity you're needing, and you'll need the following parts to complete an electric brake setup:
- 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1
- Butt Connectors # DW05745-10
- Breakaway Kit # 3802346
- Junction Box Kit # ET7WK (if you don't already have a 7-Way)
- Electric Brake Controller (let me know if you don't have one!)
