Will TireMinder Smart TPMS for RVs App Automatically Connect to Senors

Updated 02/12/2025 | Published 02/09/2025

Question:

I have a 2018 Silverado 3500HD SRW that does not have TPMS. I am interested in this phone based TPMS for use when towing a trailer with 4 tires, but also when not towing. I understand that this system should work great while towing. My question is regarding everyday driving in the truck when not towing. Will this system work for that? Do I have to connect my phone to the BT transmitter manually every time I get in the truck or is it automatic? The booster will be installed on the trailer, so when Im not towing, will the sensors on the truck tires still work?

Hey Justin, thanks for reaching out!

The TireMinder Smart TPMS for RVs # TPMS-APP-6 will automatically connect, but you'll have to manually open up the app on your phone each time you want to see what's going on with the system.

The signal booster is needed for the tires on your trailer, but not for any of the sensors you place on your truck. They will be close enough to your cab that the phone app will be able to pick the signal up just fine.

Which 2 tires are you planning on putting the additional sensors on?

Hi Jon, Thank you for the details. I plan on purchasing the 6 sensor pack plus 2 additional sensors. I need 8 sensors, 4 on the truck, 4 on the trailer.

@JustinW Makes more sense adding the pack # TM-2Brass to the mix as well! Happy towing!
