I'm Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the AMPLock Strong Series Kingpin Lock. This is gonna be something that's really quick and easy to throw on here and is gonna deter any type of theft from someone coming by. So let's take a closer look at it. Now, I think this is gonna be a great fit for anyone, again, who wants that security, especially for these larger investments that we have right here, but you don't want it to be a hassle. I've had a couple other type of locks on hand that require some pins that are a little bit annoying to finick with, or they're gonna be extra large, kind of big, bulky, kind of heavy too.
This one is so easy to use. I just unlock it, pull that out, oh, and catch her like that. So it's actually pretty light enough that I was able to just hold onto the key and still control it. This is an extra big lock that I would not have been able to catch that. Another advantage to this design is you're not gonna get your hands so greasy since you're just grabbing the outside of it.
Really easy to manage. And as for right now, I can just completely remove that key, line it up, the kingpin itself. And the way it works is essentially there's a pin that pushes up inside of here, you can kind of see it move a little bit there, and it grabs on to the base. The pin. And there you go.
And when it's on there, I can move it 360, try to rattle it around. And what's nice about this design is since it's so recessed in here, trying to get a pry bar to peel this off is gonna be highly unlikely. So not only will it deter theft, if someone does try to mess with this, they're probably gonna be unsuccessful. And to the construction, this is gonna be made out of steel and it's gonna have this coating on here which is going to help it be more weather resistant. So if it is sitting out for longer periods of time, the rain, water, whatever it is, won't degrade it.
That's gonna go a long way. And then on the very front of here, we're gonna have the actual lock core itself. So if someone is coming by here, they're feeling pretty good about themselves by taking this, they're gonna have to try to pick this lock and they're gonna need a lot of luck with that because this is gonna be a dual disc lock. So you're gonna have to have very specific tools to even attempt something like this, which most people are not gonna have. Now, overall, I do think this is gonna be a solid option for most people out there. But let's say you're someone who works for a company and you have a shipment behind you that you need to take around. Well, then I would recommend a different one from AMPLock. They're gonna have a really large one. And what's nice about that is if someone's walking by, they see this one and they see that larger one next to it, they're more likely not messing with the larger lock. It's just a little bit more intimidating. The downside is it's just gonna be heavier to lug around, take on and off. But if you are using it for work applications, that might be worth it. Whereas if you have a camper like I have right here, I think this one right here is gonna be more than enough. But again, I'm Matt, and thanks for watching.
