Could etrailer Hitch for 2015 Toyota RAV4 be Used as Jacking Point
Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/29/2025 >
Question:
Since the hitch covers the jack pad on the Rav4, how is the rear of the vehicle lifted/jacked after installation? Can the hitch be used as a jacking point? It says that the tongue weight is 525lbs. Does that mean it wouldnt be a suitable jacking surface?

Hey Mark, yes you could use the etrailer hitch part # e98864 as a jacking point if needed but just be careful with how you place the jack under it so that it doesn't slip. Do you get a lot of flats?

Hey Mark, how did it go using the hitch as a jacking point on your Rav4? Did it feel stable once you had the jack positioned under it? Your feedback could help others wondering about the same setup.
