What Bearing Kit Fits a Lippert 4,400 lb Axle

Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/18/2025

Question:

I am also looking for the kit for a leopard 4400 lb axle, so why are these parts rated for a 3500 lb axle. That doesn't seem right. So if you can explain why it is so different on the rating then I'd be okay with it. I wouldn't load 4400 lbs onto a 3500 lb capacity traile so I'm unsure.

Hey Gerald, this is a great question but basically the Lippert 4,400 lb axle just uses the same bearings as the 3,500 lb axles. The bearings themselves aren't actually rated for weight and instead we just organize them based on what axle capacities they fit to make it easier to find them. So the bearings of the # BK2-100 aren't only rated for 3,500 lbs. They are just the same fit for both a 3,500 lb and 4,400 lb axle.

Hey Gerald, did the explanation about the bearings fitting both the 3,500 lb and 4,400 lb axles clear things up for you? It’d be great to know if that made sense for your setup. Your feedback could help others sorting out the same axle rating question.
