If e-Track Beam Sockets Were Attached to Board on Both Sides Would it Be Possible to Remove e-Track

Published 01/14/2025

Question:

I would like to install etrack with these wood end beam sockets to use as shelf boards. I am concerned that if I don’t screw the 2x4 into the sockets, the board could potentially jump out of the socket or at least bounce/shake more than I like if lightly loaded….but I would also like to be able to remove the board/socket when not in use. So the question - does the install/removal geometry of the wood end beam socket let me install/remove the boards if they’re screwed into the sockets? Thanks!

Hey Cris, this is a great question. So to insert and remove the etrack end beam socket part # e96PR you need to tilt the top in a bit as you pull back on the release lever. So if you were to bolt in the beam into two sockets you really wouldn't be able to remove or install as that "tip in" wouldn't be possible. What you could do is attach the beam to one of the sockets so that it wouldn't pop out and it would be loose enough that you could pop the other side out and then be able to remove the attached side.

Is that something that would work for you?
