Question:
HI I have an Hyundai Santa Fe 2017 XL that already came with a factory 4pin trailer wiring. But i need a 7 way trailer plug. so i want to install the Tekonsha 22122 - 7-Way Tow Harness Wiring Package your Part Number: TK24FR In your PDF installation instruction, i see that there is a Brake Control Harness, that i assume is for an Electric Brake Controller like the item 90195. First question, do I need this brake controller to have the electric brake wokring on the 7 pin output? Or I can install the wiring without it and my electrical brake will work? Because I see that the 12 gauge wire is going only to the brake control harness in the front, is this because the 12volt for brake will be provided by the MODULITE so the controller is not needed? Last question, in the T-ONE® T-CONNECTOR ENDS AND MODULITE® section, there is no instruction for the Santa Fe, is it because it the same as the Kia Sorento? Just want to be sure by the same way that its really compatible with the santa fe since is not mention in the diagram anywhere Thank you!

Hey Sebastien! The brake controller adapter on the OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness item # TK24FR, and a brake controller is necessary to operate your trailer brakes. The MODULITE does not provide this function. That connector will work with the Prodigy P3 item # 90195 you mentioned but it will also work with any other Tekonsha brake controller.
Yes, the process is going to be identical for your 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe as it is on a Kia Sorento.
