Why Would Prodigy Brake Controller Only Work with Override Lever

Question:
Hello, I have a Prodigy P2. the trailer lights work however the brakes do not. The problem is duplicated on both my trailers. When the brakes are depressed, no voltage on the LCD is shown, I have to manually apply the gain. Thank you, Jamie 93 Ram 250

Hey Jamie, we see this problem pretty often and the issue is the stoplight circuit of the brake controller (red wire). It needs to be connected to a circuit that only sees voltage when the brakes are applied. Most likely the connection of the red wire has come loose so check that first but if not that I would check the third brake light fuse of the truck as well as that covers same circuit.

Hey Jamie, did checking the red wire connection or the third brake light fuse get your Prodigy P2 working again? Knowing what fixed the brake signal issue could help others with the same setup.
