Best Auto Leveling System for 2014 Keystone Avalanche 5th Wheel Trailer

Updated 02/12/2025 | Published 12/18/2024

Question:

I have a 2014 Keystone Avalanche that is 34 long. The 5th-wheel does on have a self leveling system. I question is can a self leveling system like the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System w Touchpad - 4-Point Set or the 6 point set be added to my 5th Wheel? Thanks

They definitely can Luis! The Ground Control systems are the most convenient, easiest to use leveling systems available, and allow you to level your 5th wheel by pressing a button. The only thing you'll have to determine is which set-up you need, the 4-point system item # LC358590 or the 6-point system item # LC675817.

I attached a diagram below that will show you the measurements you'll need to take. The 4-point system item # LC358590 will be correct if the distance between the center of your landing gear footpad and the center of the rear jack footpad is less than 20', and the 6-point system item # LC675817 is correct if it is more than 20'.

Hello Jerred, How does someone determine where the rear jack footpad will be located? Will it be where the current rear footpads are now? The one my 5th wheel has for the rear is something like the Lippert High-Speed Power Stabilizer Jack - White Switch Kit - Part Number: LC369774 Thanks Luis

@Luis Yes, where the current one is would be exactly where you want to measure from.

@JerredH Hello Jerred. I just seen a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6OADWhIHYg) from etrailer on how to take out the manual leveling system I have on my 2014 Keystone Avalanche and installing the 3.0 6point one. In the video it states that the rear jack will be placed 12 inches behind the from the rear tire. On a question before. I was told that the rear jack would be place where my current rear stabilizers (Jacks) are. So I am confused as to were the jacks will be located when the 3.0 system I would like to install is installed. As of now. The measurement from the front jacks to the rear ones is 24 foot. Can you give me guidance on which system I need and where will the jacks be place? Do I need the 4 point or the 6 point self leveling system. Thanks, Luis

@Luis Hey Louis! The rear jack needs be placed one foot behind the rearmost axle hanger. What you'll want to do is measure from the center of the landing gear jack back to the rearmost suspension hanger and add 1' to that. If it's less than 20' you need the 4 point item # LC358590 and if it's over 20' item # LC675817 you'd want the 6 point.
