Avaialbility OF Trailer Hitch For 1996 Ford Econoline Diesel Bus

Regarding Buyers Product 3371801102 class 5 hitch: I own 1996 Ford Econoline Diesel and I am on the search for a Class 4/5 hitch for the 1996 and UP Econoline cutaway chassis. Its body is a 5 window school bus with the 8ft wide body. The frame is a lot wider than the Ford E-series passenger/cargo vans which I found out when I tried installing a CURT 14053 Class 4 hitch. The mounting holes line up front to back but the unit is not wide enough span for the frame rails. I included a photo of the hitch that was installed on my bus. I also included the photo of the identification number luckily enough the part number was there. Found it online and it was Genuine GM brand part 15036675. From what I noticed before removing it was it fit the width of the frame perfect 4 of the 6 mounting bolt holes aligned up with factory holes and the other 2 looked like they were drilled. I’m hoping the Buyers Product 3771801102 will fit my needs for my application. It is a whole lot beefier unit than the rusted unit I removed from the bus. I am also hoping you have a class 4 preferably Class 5 for my bus, I’d order it immediately. Thank you Ariel

Hello Ariel, thanks for reaching out. We may have a hitch that will fit your 1996 Ford Econoline Cutaway bus, but there are no custom fit hitches made for this kind of vehicle. The Buyers Class 5 Hitch # 3371801102 you mentioned is a custom fit hitch for a 2014-2025 Chevy Express or GMC Savana, so I cannot guarantee fitment for your bus. What I can do is provide dimensions for hitch so you can compare them to your chassis, and I have included a dimensional diagram for you below.
If this will not fit, your best option will be to take a universal hitch like the Curt # C99CR to a welder and have them fabricate something to fit.
