Question:

The Lexus owners manual says that it does not recommend adding a trailer hitch or activity mount to the RX-350h hybrid. Im planning to have the Draw-Tite DT73QR installed anyway to mount my two-bike rack. Any concerns on your end?

Hey Ken,

You can still install the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT73QR but you'd be likely voiding the warranty you have with Lexus and if any hitch mounted accessories end up causing damage you'd probably have to eat the cost for repairs. I would reach out to a local Lexus dealership and ask if they've seen any issues in the shop with 'non-trailer towing' models to see if there's any glaring problems others have run into.

As for the hitch, this is going to be a super easy install that won't even require you to drop the exhaust. You'll need a torque wrench # ALL944001, which you can typically also just rent from your local auto parts store for free.
