Correct Orientation of U-Bolt for Roadmaster Reflex RV Steering Stabilizer Installation

Published 11/22/2024

Question:

Roadmaster rssc with rbk24 bracket. I am seeing the tie rod bracket being put on with the U bolts in front of the spring and others behind the spring where you have to use a crows foot to torque them. Which is it please. Going on a 2025 Ford E450, Jayco Greyhawk.

Hey Gary,

I'm not sure where you're seeing the discrepancy, but it looks like the correct orientation is to put the U-Bolt behind the spring (if I'm understanding you correctly).

I've attached a photo of the Roadmaster Reflex RV Steering Stabilizer with Mtg Brackets # RM-RBK24-RSSC installed as well as an installation video for your reference.

But there are also etrailer youtube videos showing the ubolt bracket facing outwards. That’s my confusion.

@Gary Was it on a different motorhome? I'm looking at all of the installation videos of this stabilizer on a Ford cutaway and they all have it facing the same way. If you can shoot me the URL for the videos you're seeing that are different I'd be more than happy to dig deeper into this for you.

@Gary Thank for the link! I was able to find that exact video on our site and I've linked our website video in my comment here. I definitely see where you're coming from with your question, but what I'm seeing is that our cameraman was just on the opposite side of the vehicle than what's normal and that's why it looks like the U-Bolts are facing the wrong way. Normally they shoot from directly behind the bumper, but in this video it looks like our videographer was directly under the middle of the RV as opposed to at the back.
