Hi Don; the difference between the # WS44MR and # WS82CR is the actual hitch balls. The # WS82CR has a stainless steel double-sided tow ball and the # WS44MR has a chrome-plated double-sided tow ball. Personally I would get the stainless steel option so the level of corrosion resistance matches the aluminum shank.
