Looking For Lift Cable For 1978 Steury Pop Up Camper

Question:

i just bought what i am told is a 1978 Steury pop up camper. The Lift cable is broken and i am looking for information on a replacement cable and instructions/diagram.

Hello Jordan, thanks for reaching out. We do have some winch cables that may work for you, but we do not have any kind of instructions or diagrams for a 1978 camper. Only the manufacturer of the camper would have that kind of thing, and with the camper being so old that is a long shot. The best thing to do will be to check the diameter and length of the cable and try to find a match.

For example the Hand Winch Cable # DL24069 is 3/16" diameter and 20' long. It has an 1,800 lb rating and has a safety hook on one end. If you can tell me the diameter and length of your cable I am happy to look into it and see if we have anything for you.

Hey Jordan, were you able to find a cable that matches your Steury camper’s lift system? Once you had the diameter and length, did the winch cable option end up fitting your setup? Your update could make it easier for others working on older campers.
