Question:

Looking to install the Curt Spectrun in a 2023 Chevy Express 3500. will controller work for this application? Also, any additional harness needed?

Hey Rick,

There isn't a custom-fit wire harness for your Chevy Express so you'll want to go with the kit that has the universal splice-in harness # C72RV in order to get it installed. The wires would need to be spliced into your factory wiring in the following manner:

White - ground to frame
Black - run to battery with 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 and inline 30 amp circuit breaker # PK54530
Blue - run to brake controller output pin on 7-way with 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1
Red - connect to cold side of the brake light switch

The cold side of the brake light switch is going to be one of the wires coming off of the brake pedal. This wire will only have power when the brake pedal is being depressed. If you can't find it or the wire gauge is too small to splice into then you can install a stop light switch kit # RM-751000 and use its output as the brake signal.

I don't have an installation video with a Chevy Express but I've attached one we made for a Ford Transit van to give you a better idea of how to install the Spectrum.
