Question:
Will the Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2 hitch clear a 2024 Ford Bronco mounted tire? I measured 13 inches from the Broncos hitch hole center to the furthest tire width that needs to clear

Hi David; this may actually be possible but it will definitely be a close call. The closest part of the rack from the center of the hitch pin hole on the EXO is 4-1/4". However, that is not where the box actually sits. If you take a look at the installation video below the back edge of the box is 12-1/2" out from the bumper of that RAV4.
Really what it will come down to is the size of the spare and how much clearance there is between the bottom of the tire and the hitch. If it sits low enough the Yakima StraightShot Hitch Extension # Y69VR could be used to push it out past the tire. This will also cut the capacity of the hitch by 50%. If you can get me the measurement from the top of the receiver opening to the bottom of the spare I can try to sort it out with Yakima and see if they think it will work.
If it needs to sit a little lower to clear you could use the # 325-GH-503 to drop it down and clear. However, this is getting into the realm of too many moving parts. At the very least you would want to add another anti-rattle # GY88XR to the stacked receivers to help stabilize everything. The other solution would be to pull the spare to allow for the use of the cargo carrier but I'm sure you're trying to avoid that.
Another thing you may want to do is check and see if there are any Yakima dealers nearby that have the EXO with the cargo carrier in stock. You could drive over and test it out/measure to see what would be required to clear on your vehicle.

Hey David, what did you find when checking the clearance between your Bronco’s spare tire and the Yakima EXO carrier? Once you had that top-of-receiver-to-spare measurement, were you able to figure out if the StraightShot extension or drop shank made it work? Your results could really help others trying to fit this setup on a Bronco.
