Can The TorkLift GlowStep TLA7844 Be Installed Above The Bumper Of The Truck?

Question:
Were interested in the Torklift StowNgo 4 step for our truck camper. Our camper floor below the door is 1 inch thick, so there is not the required 3 inches there to install it. Above the bumper our F150 truck has the required 3 inches to install it, but the camper hangs over the end of the truck by 6 inches, so the steps would be installed 6 inches back from the edge of the door. Will this work? Is there some other way to install it?

Hello David, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can install the TorkLift GlowStep Stow N' Go Scissor Steps # TLA7844 in the manner you described. With no space directly below the door, it sounds like installing it above the bumper of your truck is the only option. The only concern is you may not have access to the entire top step. The steps are 8" wide so you may have access to only part of it so just try to tread carefully on the top step.

Hey David, how did the setup go with the TorkLift Stow N’ Go steps mounted above the bumper on your F150? Were you able to get enough space to use the top step comfortably? Your update could make it easier for others working with a similar camper setup.
