Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2017 Apex Nano with 400 lb Tongue Weight
Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 10/07/2024 >
Question:
I need help choosing a weight distribution hitch. I have a 2017 F150 with active rear suspension already installed. Were buying a 2017 Apex Nano with a tongue weight of 406 pounds. Is there any other relevant information you would need to make a recommendation? On a good, better, best scale, were looking for better or best. Thank you for your help!

Hey Cody, you got me all the info I needed so lets start with a good WD system for your 406 lbs of tongue weight. For that the Reese Round Bar part # RE34FR would work if you wanted a great value that gets the job done.
Next up I would go with the Fastway e2 part # FA92-00-0600 which is a trunnion bar setup with better ground clearance and has two points of sway control to help with passing semis.
Finally the gold standard is the Equal-i-zer part # EQ90-00-0600 which has a 4 point sway control system and the reputation as being the best overall WD on the market. If you wanted the confidence knowing you have the best of the best this would be the way to go.

Hey Cody, how did things turn out with the weight distribution hitch for your F150 and Apex Nano? Did one of the options like the Fastway e2 or Equal-i-zer give you the ride quality you wanted? Your update could make it easier for others towing similar setups.
