Question:
Hello. Im looking to put a hitch on the front of my 2004 Nissan Xterra. Unfortunately I dont believe these were ever mass produced. Using the picture in the link below as a guide...I need the center of the mounting holes to measure 26 inches....Are you able to provide options that have mounting holes 26inches apart? Thank you in advance. https://www.etrailer.com/question-263158.html

Hello Geoff, thanks for getting in touch. You are correct that there is no custom fit front hitch for the 2004 Nissan Xterra. I do have an option for you, but we do not have our custom fit hitches classified by the bolt hole spacing. So, there is no way to look up which hitches fit this specification short of going and physically measuring every hitch we offer which is not possible. Even if there is a hitch that meets that spec, there is no guarantee of fitment. A universal hitch will be a much better option.
Since there is no custom hit hitch, the only option would be to have a universal trailer hitch receiver like the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch and Brackets # 15902 fabricated to fit the front of your Xterra. This hitch has adjustable flanges that can be mounted at 26". This kind of work is best done by a professional welder unless you have experience with that kind of thing.

Thanks Jesse. Welding is something I’d like to avoid. I saw the following hitch and it looks like what I need as well https://www.etrailer.com/RV-and-Camper-Hitch/CURT/C13702.html . My only concern is the holes in the mounting pieces lining up with the holes that are already in the frame. I could probably drill an additional hole in the mounting piece if need be though. Would you be able to tell me how far apart the holes are in the mounting pieces? Thanks Jesse.
