Picking Between Ball Sensor and Valve Stem Tuson TPMS System for Trailer

Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/28/2024

Question:

I do have 35foot Sandstorm TH with 2 axles running 235/85-16 G rated tires at 110 PSI . Is this Tuson ball system TUS37FR better than Tuson part 335TPMS4WIVS or what will be your recommendation for my trailer. THX

Hey Milos, I would go with the ball sensor setup part # TUS37FR over the part # 335TPMS4WIVS since it is totally separate from the tires valve stems. So if you were to happen to have a valve stem issue and you had the ball sensor kit you could use whatever is convenient to replace it and it wouldn't affect the TPMS.

If you went with the valve stem setup you'd have to replace the valve stems with the part # 335TPMS-IVS which isn't the end of the world but it wouldn't be as convenient most likely.

Hey Milos, how did the Tuson ball sensor system work out on your Sandstorm trailer? Your feedback could really help others comparing the ball sensor and valve stem setups. Knowing what worked best for you would be great for anyone running a similar tire setup.

@JamesonC I like the system, but not sure if is an accurate regarding temperature . Show over 150 F . Seems kind the too high, but monitor high temperature alarm never give me alert , maybe is OK then. Rear axle show always little more than front, probably because trailer is not in ideal level and more weight is on the rear axle. Air pressure seems to me be accurate . milos

@MilosE Normally trailer tires can get to between 120 and 160 during normal temperatures so 150 is definitely nothing to worry about.
