Question:
I had recently purchased the curt echo wireless brake controller for my 2016 Ford F150 and I plug it into my 7-way pin and no lights on the curt echo light up with the truck on. Do i need to plug a trailer cord into the curt echo and then plug it into my vehicle? Or do i have a defective unit?

Hi Brendan,
The issue is with the wiring on your 2016 Ford F-150, as the 12 volt power is sometimes off on the 7-way if you're not moving, as you can see from the cut out of the instructions I added for the Curt Echo # C51180.
So the 12 volt power needs to be routed directly to the positive terminal on your battery with 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 and 30 amp circuit breaker # PK54530.
