Will an AC Work on a 220 Outlet

Question:
Hello, We have a 98 Silverado 4 horse trailer with living quarters. In 2022 we made our first trip to Arizona for the winter. At our land we plugged into a new a newly installed 30 amp plug not knowing it was wired 220. Fried microwave and dish receiver. Would this have any effect on the power converter? Am trying to put a new AC unit on and I am finding 12.66 volts at thermostat when on battery and over 16 volts when plugged into 110. The fans will work on the AC, but the compressor will not. Thanks, Bill

I would say yes and no, William. If the AC you're trying to add can run on 220 and 12v then it shouldn't be an issue, but if it only runs on 12V you're going to fry it.

Hey Bill, what ended up happening with the power converter after that 220 plug issue? It’d be great to know if the new AC unit worked normally once you sorted out the voltage. Your update could help others dealing with similar power problems.
