Hey Alec,
We do have disc brakes with 5/8" studs for 8,000 lb axles you can use to convert from the electric brakes you currently have. You'll need a hub and rotor kit since you'll have to replace the hubs, and by far the best option is from DeeMaxx, and you can choose from either cast iron calipers or stainless steel:
- Cast Iron Calipers: DeeMaxx Disc Brakes # DE88AR
- Stainless Steel Calipers: DeeMaxx Disc Brakes # DE68AR
The stainless steel calipers give you the advantage of never having to worry about any rust, though the trade-off, of course, is the increased cost. But I did want to give you the option in case you lived in a particularly wet climate or just wanted the peace of mind.
As for DeeMaxx, these are the best option, and what I trust most. They're unique because they have small drainage holes on the outside of the rotors, which ensures heat gets removed quicker than other brakes. This is important because when brakes get too hot they can lose friction and won't perform as well as they should. DeeMaxx figured that out, and for a rig as big as your Kaufman EZ4 hauler, having optimal stopping power at all times is ideal.
