Correct Reese Goose Box for a 2017 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS

Updated 01/12/2026 | Published 09/03/2024

Question:

I have a 2018 Silverado 3500 SRW with the 66inch standard bed and factory puck mounting system, towing a 2017 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS fifth wheel. I currently have a MorRyde rubber pin box with an Andersen hitch and am lloking to swap over to a Reese Goosebox RP94716. My question is would this setup suffice with the Goosebox for clearance and turning radius issues or would I need an offset ball in the bed of my truck? Also would the RP94716 be sufficient for my camper or would I need the RP85FR?

Great questions, Rick!

The 16K Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP94716 is the correct weight rating for your 2017 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS since it has a GVWR of 14K lbs. As long as the initial pin box on your Grand Design was the 1621 model then this is the exact part you need to swap over to a gooseneck towing setup.

If you have enough clearance right now without using the Anderson offset then you'll be fine, but if you have to use that offset to get enough clearance then you'll want to pick up the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for GM OEM Puck Systems # GY23XR as well since it has a 5" offset.

One other thing to keep in mind is that safety chains like the Kit # RP49151 are required for a gooseneck connection so you'll need those as well if you don't already have them.

Hey Rick, how did things turn out with the Reese Goosebox on your Silverado and Reflection setup? Did you end up needing the Gen-Y offset ball for extra clearance? Your update could make it easier for others towing similar fifth wheels.
