Can the Curt Echo Brake Controller Be Used W/ Air Brakes

Question:
I have a 2006 Newmar Dutch star with air brakes .I want to pull a enclosed trailer will Part C51180 work the Brakes ?

Donald, the Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 is not going to work with air brakes. This brake controller works off of the tail lights going to your trailer to determine when the brakes are being used. Some trucks with air brakes have an exhaust brake as well which can activate the brake lights using the Echo in that situation, causing the trailer to try and stop while the exhaust brake is trying to maintain a speed going down hill. So, I'd recommend going with the Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C instead.
